What are
Biobibliographic Surveys?
While some emeriti take
retirement at its word, many emeriti choose to work after leaving regular
employment. Through the dedicated
efforts of Moses Greenfield, UCLA, the extent of post-retirement service to the
University, the community, and academic disciplines was surveyed in the late
1990Ős. The initial survey
revealed an impressive level of pro bono
service besides teaching and consulting. The project has now become a biennial (biobibliographic) survey
of the continuing contributions to the University of emeriti across all UC
campuses. A committee of the
California University of California Emeriti Association (CUCEA) administers the
surveys. The survey reports are
great reading - thanks to the incomparable writings of the Survey Editor, Charles Berst, UCLA. The most recent
survey covers the period 2005-2007.
